Community Outreach Ministries
Serving, Welcoming, Growing in Christ

Serving is first in who we are.
We are a servant church of the servant Christ.
Our program of outreach are not just things we do,
they are who we are.
Our outreach includes:
•
A Food pantry, open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00 - 11:00 am, which serves hundreds of families every month.
•
An English language program, operated by Lutheran Social Services, which teaches English to speakers of other languages in our building
weekday mornings.
•
A Cold Weather Shelter, which operates from December through March of every year.
•
Participation in the Emergency Assistance Network, a gathering of the resources of Concord faith communities for meeting the needs of neighbors in financial crisis.
•
A variety of 12-Step and other self-help groups, which meet over the course of the week in our facility.
•
Participation in a program known as "Interfaith Caregivers,” operated by Concord’s Friends Program, which provides personal support for older
people who want to continue to live independently.
Red Cross Heroes: Cold Weather Shelter
First Congregational Church & South Congregational Church
During the 2010 Heroes Breakfast, the American Red Cross-Granite Chapter honored outstanding people or groups who gave selflessly to their communities. One group were two churches in Concord NH who together have rallied over 200 volunteers each year to manage the Cold Weather Shelter program for the homeless community in the Concord area.
CONCORD CONSIDERS PARTICIPATING IN “FAMILY PROMISE” PROGRAM SUPPORTING HOMELESS FAMILIES
The Greater Concord Interfaith Council has invited a consultant from Family Promise, a national organization with a successful program for helping homeless families find their way back to a home, to help Concord faith communities discern whether we can support a Family Promise program in the Concord area.
