The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.  He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. [Psalm 23:1-3]

Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. And by this we will know that we are from the truth and will reassure our hearts before him.  [1 John 3:18-19]

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. [John 10:14-15]

Fish Fry [or] The Joy of Cooking: Sermon delivered on April 19th, 2015

There are many who say, “O that we might see some good! Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord!”  You have put gladness in my heart more than when their grain and wine abound.  I will both lie down and sleep in peace; for you alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety.  (Psalm 4:6-8)

And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.  While in their joy they were disbelieving and still wondering, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”  They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate in their presence. (Luke 24:40-43)

All Or Nothing At All: Sermon delivered on April 12th, 2015

In a powerful way the apostles told everyone that the Lord Jesus was now alive. God greatly blessed his followers, and no one went in need of anything. Everyone who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles. Then they would give the money to anyone who needed it.  [Acts 4:33-35]

Although Thomas the Twin was one of the twelve disciples, he wasn’t with the others when Jesus appeared to them.  So they told him, “We have seen the Lord!”  But Thomas said, “First, I must see the nail scars in his hands and touch them with my finger. I must put my hand where the spear went into his side. I won’t believe unless I do this!”   [John 20:24-25]

    First Church

First and foremost we are a serving church - throughout nearly three centuries we have been serving the people of Concord and the world.

We are a welcoming church -- welcoming children, youth, and adults, seekers and settled, doubtful and faithful, and creating a community united in Christ's love for us all.

We are a church growing in Christ -- not having all the answers but growing in faith, in love, in working for a just and peaceful world, people learning the way of Jesus together, and welcoming others to learn with us.

    Come and see!
