As part of our outreach to area musicians we host an open jam session on the first Sunday of every month (September through June) from 5:00-7:00 PM.
The jam takes place at the back of the church - Enter the parking lot from Norwich Street and come in the double-doors on the left. More details below. (Photo of saxophone, above, by Elisabeth D'Orcy and remixed for use here) |
All Ages/AbilitiesIf you can sing or play a melody from the Real Book* then you're ready to participate in our jam session - Ability to play a solo is not required!
We'll have a microphone for vocalists, a keyboard, drums, a bass amp, and music stands set up. Anything else you will need to bring yourself (Guitar players, please bring a small amp!) |
Bring Your Own Instruments & Real Books**The "Real Book" is a compilation of lead sheets for jazz musicians that contains most jazz songs performed at our jam sessions. Use the links below to get your copy!
