Greetings, and welcome back to our tour of the Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute, in Scotland.
Today we are exciting the Chapel and entering the Marble Hall.
Rather than trying to describe why it's called that, I invite you to take a look for yourself below. :)

Yep - the floor, columns, and buttresses are ALL made of different colors of marble. I remember back when I falsely assumed (at age 12 or so) that marble was white with the black veins running through. I am still happy to know I was incorrect, for I delight in the many different colors and patterns of marble.
Clearly the owners and designers of this mansion did too.
If we step into the very center of the Marble hallway...
and look up...
a marvelous wonder meets our eyes!

This is the Celestial Ceiling of Marble Hall! In a few weeks, I'll give you a closer look at the stained glass windows around the ceiling. Any guess what images are in those stained glass? Feel free to post your guess in the comments at the bottom of this post!
I nearly laid down on the marble floor to take this photo - but I was pretty sure that the docents watching from the corners of the room wouldn't have liked that.
Additionally, I was afraid that I wouldn't want to get up! Not due to exhaustion, but rather the desire to keep staring up at this ceiling - I LOVE the Universe.
Ah well, let us pull our eyes back down from the ceiling to the wall and take in one of two HUGE tapestries in the Marble Hall. (The other one you can see in the first photo.)
Here we have "The Lord of the Hunt."

I've seen MANY tapestries in my life - but never one with kilts! And it did my heart good to see them!
Now that we've taken a gander at the Marble Hall, we'll spend the next three weeks touring the other three rooms on this floor (that guests are allowed in, that is). Stay tuned!
Be well! Be kind!
Blessings on your journey,
Pastor Emilia
